*Haven't updated for a while so the first thing a want to share news a bout is how my cosplaying is going. Still planning to go to some cons in 2010. I want to celebrate some new dubs coming out by cosplaying some FMA
I finally got my sewing machine out! It's been in the closet for a few years and now I can start using it(I even threaded it without the manual!) I have experience with my grandma's sewing machine and she's gonna help me with my first project. Instead of starting out by making my first cosplay I'm actually gonna make a Halloween costume and get some experience first. Still unsure what I'll be yet but I'll have it figured out sometime this week so I can drive over to grandma's and get started. Also we're getting ready to sew in my apparrel developement class so I'll get more experience there.
*Hmm? Anymore updates? Well school is going all right for my freshmen year. Speaking of school I got homework piling up like Roy's paperwork so I better get started. My mom is like Riza with a gun...
*Oh and did I mention today's October 3rd so it's the day Ed and Alphonse burnt down their house and started their adventures? Yeah I pay attension to stuff like that. And today's also my OC's birthday so I'll celebrate by eating CoCoa Crispys and watching the Little Mermaid with my sister.
I can't end an update without asking how everyone else's lives are going! Hope everyones enjoying the Autumn. Those leaves piling up yet? It's only cold here but I'm sure I'll be raking soon. Anyway got to go!
-END UPDATE-
Oh, this is random but is anyone who lives in North Carolina going to any Anime Conventions in 2010? Just curious 'cause I just asked my mom a few days ago if she'd take me to my first con and she said yes. (Yay! another new con mom on the way!) And so I was wondering which Cons are really good and that people enjoyed a lot in the past. I might go to Animazement cause I hear it's a good one. And if I go I'll be dressed as some FMA character, probably Ed or human Al.
So if you live in N.C and you have con experience, which ones would you recomend? And if your going to Animazement next year who will you be cosplaying? I'd also like to hear about really good Cons in nearby states like Georgia, South Carolina, Tennesse, or Virginia.
And some advice or tips on what to do at and before cons. Like maybe how much time should I spend in the dealers room? Or what other cool kinds of events should I check out? Anything would help a ton!
Also, I'd like to quickly say that I have never made a cosplay before, so some tips about that sort of thing would be much appreciated. I want to have an Edward or human Alphonse cosplay finished by May next year in time for Animazement or any other cons around late spring or summer. I have a sewing machine but I need to stock up on more materials like sewing needles and pins and such. Hopefully I'll be able to find a fabric store where I live. So tips about what I should do or buy to make my first cosplay would be great. Maybe mention what materials I need for the actual cosplay or what I need to make it. I've sewn small things like doll's clothes and stuffed animals in the past but I've never made a costume before.
Really, any advice would be a huge help! It being about Conventions or cosplaying! It's a lot to ask but I've never done this before and I don't know anyone who has. So I'd apreciate the help! Thank you!
EDIT: I want to make an Edward cosplay first and then an Alphonse one. Then maybe some military officer. So help for general cosplaying or for those characters would be great from anyone who has made an Ed cosplay before. :3
